Matt and I drove the two hours from Las Vegas to visit Death Valley National Park. We arrived at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center, where we paid our entrance fee and bought a few souvenirs.
We were extremely fortunate to visit Death Valley during the first wildflower super bloom in over ten years. A blanket of yellow flowers covered the desert floor.
Our first stop was to Badwater Basin, which is the lowest elevation in North America. The white ground is salt and mineral deposits left over from water evaporation. We visited in February and even then it was hot. I cannot imagine Death Valley in the summer time.

Our next stop was a short hike to visit Natural Bridge.
Then we took a scenic loop through Artist's Drive.
At the end of the day we drove to Dante's View to watch the sunset over Death Valley.
