Adventure #7

In the morning of our first full day in Istanbul we went to the Blue Mosque. We took off our shoes and walked into the large domed space. The mosque has bright blue Iznik tiles and stained glass windows covering the walls. The floor is carpeted. The mosque was built between 1609-1616 and caused controversy since the design had six minarets which was seen as an attempt to rival the architecture of Mecca.





In the afternoon we took a boat trip up the Bosphorus to the Black Sea. We ate lunch while watching the expensive waterfront houses go by. We stopped at a little fishing town for a few minutes on the Asian side of Turkey. We were so excited, we had been to Asia. After, the boat stopped at the mouth of the Black Sea to let everyone swim. A group of Spanish men caught my attention, while I was sitting on the top deck of the boat, watching Laura swim. They had mischievous looks on their faces and were trying to swim side by side. All of the sudden they dove into the water head first and mooned everyone on the boat. Ha Ha. Before we left I took a picture of the Black Sea and waved in the direction of Ukraine for Colt.
