Adventure #14

Day 2: Your family. I am not sure about everyone else, but I am pretty excited to write this post. I am going to treat this like a mini school paper. I come from a family of five. I will start with my parents. First, is my dad. His name is Steve and he was born on January 9. He grew up in the Woods Cross/Bountiful area. He graduated from Woods Cross High and earned an associates degree in Diesel Mechanics. He served in the army for several years and was even stationed in Germany. He currently works as a diesel mechanic. He is extremely good at fixing cars and is certainly my go-to-man. My dad is quite the talker. He has a loud voice and gets closer and closer to whoever is listening to him. He is an avid history buff, but mainly likes to read/learn about cowboys and war. He likes to ride horses and read. He saves his vacation time every year to go hunting in the fall and he enjoys fishing also. He is always eating Jelly Belly's.

Second, is my mom. Her name is Brenda and she was born on September 19. She grew up in West Jordan and graduated from Bingham High School. She was a Minerette. How cool is that? She earned her Bachelor's Degree from BYU in Accounting. She currently works as an accountant. My mom is amazing at riding horses. She participates in a riding club and has won many awards for poles and barrels. She likes to read. She is an excellent scrapbooker. Her most recent hobby is quilt making. If I am counting right she has made more than nine quilts. Hard work. She also likes to go shopping. Her and I have been hitting up the consignment stores lately. My mom and dad met at Salt Lake Community College. They were married September 27, 1982. They currently live in Bluffdale.

Third, is me, Elise. I am not going to talk about myself though, since the 30 Day Challenge is about me.

Fourth, is my brother. His name is Colt and he was born on May 22. We are exactly 18 months apart, to the day. He graduated from Riverton High School. He went on a LDS mission to Donetsk, Ukraine. He is fluent in Russian. He graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He is planning on attending law school. He married his wife, Shauna, on April 25, 2008. They have one daughter named Ruby, who is going to turn two on July 23rd, and a second child on the way. My brother also likes to read. He loves to play Nintendo games and games on his computer. He likes to ride horses. He often goes hunting and fishing with my dad. He likes to play Ultimate Frisbee and racquetball with his friends. He is a picky eater and usually eats pizza several times a week.

Fifth, is my sister. Her name is Jessie, but her full name is Jessica. (If you call her Jessica, I will not know who you are talking about.) She was born on January 16. She graduated from Riverton High School. She moved to Logan and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Utah State in Animal Science. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Extension Education, and will graduate in December. She is also applying to the new Veterinary Program at Utah State. She married her husband, Scott, on May 8, 2009. Jessie loves animals. Obviously. She has three dogs named Beau, Tad, and Zeke. She likes to read. She likes to ride horses. She loves to play board games. She has taken up sewing with my mom, and has made several baby blankets for her friends. She also likes to go shopping and has always been a good shopping buddy.

I like this picture of us the best. From Colt and Shauna's wedding. Sorry Jessie, no Scott yet.
