Adventure #140

On our last day in Hong Kong Matt and I took an hour long bus ride to the town of Stanely. We rode on the top of the double decker in the front. It always felt as though we were going to run into oncoming traffic, however we arrived safely. We also got off at the wrong stop twice. Oh well.


While in Stanely we walked through the flea market. Matt was looking at watches in one booth and was practically attacked by the two women who owned the place. They would not let him leave and when he finally did, without purchasing a watch, I am pretty sure they called him dirty names. We did however buy some bowls and a nice painting of boats. We walked around the town and bought an ice cream cone before heading back to the bus station.









We ate lunch at a restaurant close to our hotel. It was delicious. Then we went to the Lady's Market, just another flea market. Matt bought a sweet yellow belt. After we wandered through the fish, bird, and flower markets.





We had dinner at the same restaurant and went back to the hotel to pack. The next morning we rode the bus to the airport. We flew back to Tokyo and then to Portland. We could not get home from Portland right away so we left our luggage at the airport and rode the light rail into town. We ate lunch and bought doughnuts from Voodoo. We went back to the airport and got on the next flight home.
